English version: Learning Specific Disorder is a disorder of neurodevelopment with a biological origin, which is determined by an interaction of genetic, epigenetic and environmental factors. The neurobiological dysfunctions underlying the disturbances interfere with the normal process of acquisition of reading, writing and calculation this neurodevelopmental disorder appears for the first time during the years of school education and is characterized by persistent progressive difficulties in learning basic academic skills in reading, text comprehension, writing, of calculus and/or of mathematical reasoning. They are disorders that involve a specific domain of abilities leaving the general intellectual functioning intact. The specificity of functional impairment is the main feature of the DSA and defines this diagnostic category. For the diagnosis it is necessary to use standardized tests, both to measure general intelligence and reading/writing and calculation skills. In clinical practice, it is common to come across complex clinical situations, that is in cases in which, having met the inclusion criteria of a DSA, there are other sensory or neurological disorders.
